  1. How did I do with the math? Am I a human?

  2. Is my assumption correct that if a class is not on the preregistration list then it is considered a drop in class? Do these classes usually fill up? If so, are people turned away?

Thank you and Happy New Year!

    • You are absolutely right. I’ve never had to turn anyone away, but just barely have avoided it. At some point, it could happen. I’ve only got space for nine mats, so that’s just how it goes, unfortunately. I hope you’ll still join us one day, anyway!! For the record, Monday and Tuesday nights are the most crowded. Try coming another time and it’s far less likely to happen. :)

  4. Hi! Do you have room in your upcoming senior series? My mom is a very healthy 83 year old Mint Hill resident and I would love to give her that series. Fingers crossed you have room and that she will agree to do it! Love your studio concept.

  5. Barely!! That’s a really popular class. Register ASAP to make sure you get a spot. Can you pm me at minthillyoga@gmail.com and let me know if your Mom will be bringing a chair to class? Thanks. The next series starts next week on Wednesday at 9:30!! :)

  7. How long does the belly dancing class run (dates or number of classes).

    Thank you, andrea garrison

  8. I am looking forward to being there this evening…I paid for the month I have wanted to try yoga for a while now. Glad Tina mentioned it!!! :)

  9. My mother-in-law will be joining us tomorrow as a drop-in.

  10. Hi I am a beginner and have only taken a few yoga classes in the past but am looking to do a morning class starting in August – I see that the only class offered in the morning is the Gentle Fusion class…can you describe the class a little bit? Is this something that would be good for a beginner? I’m looking for something to help back pain/stress/anxiety

    • Gentle Fusion is a combination of breath focused viniyoga, which is a therapeutic tradition, and Iyengar, also a therapeutic tradition, but with a focus on alignment rather than breath. This class(and actually all the classes I teach at MHY) are designed especially to help relieve stress and anxiety. The back pain relief pain part will happen naturally as you develop and grow your practice slowly and safely over time. I once had a terrible time with sciatica, but I haven’t had a flare up in at least four years, if that gives you an idea as to the impact a regular practice can achieve. If you have further questions, please be sure to let me know!!!

  11. Hi I have been waiting to take a beginner’s class for a while – does the Saturday morning 9am class normally fill up? I’d like to come in this next Saturday 1/10 as a drop-in, but wanted to make sure there would be space? I would have signed up for the 5-week series, but I’ve already missed one class.

    Thanks so much

  12. Hi Bettie,

I’ve just signed up for the over 50 class on Wednesdays. I have never done yoga before except fooled around a little in my home using a dvd. I hope I am able to keep up. Do I need to purchase a mat to bring with me.

    Thanks,

    Darlene

    • Hi Darlene!!
      Welcome.
Don’t worry about keeping up. I promise you will do just fine. The folks in that class are absolutely lovely and encouraging, and I won’t ask anything of you that you aren’t able to give. Yes, you do need to purchase your own mat, and bring a bottle of water if you think you might need one. Otherwise, I have everything else you might use in class. Can’t wait to meet you!!

  13. Hi, are you still offering the 5 series for beginner’s class? And if I sign up online and pay does that guarantee me a spot on Saturday morning?

    • Hi! This series of 5 has already begun, so you are only able to come as a drop in, which is $12. The next series of 5 is open for registration and begins April 11. Cost is $40 for the series. Each class is 60 minutes long.

  14. Gentle/subtle inspired and Viniyoga do nots have dates for the series. What are the dates for those classes. Thank you

    • The series classes I teach always occur on certain specific dates which are indicated on the registration page. The series offered by the other teachers are organized differently. I believe what they offer is that you attend any 5 weeks out of 6, but you need to ask the teacher when you come to class to be certain. Does that help at all? I can PM you contact info for anyone you would like to email personally if you have further questions that this doesn’t answer. I hope this helps. Bettie Shea

  15. I just paid for the beginners class starting May 30th. Is that all I need to do to ‘register’?

  16. Hi Betty, so enjoyed talking with you the other day! Please put me down for the Tuesday 9:30 am class that starts in November. I will register tomorrow or Monday. Looking forward to meeting you and getting on the path to wellness.
    Donna

  17. Hi Betty,

Just my luck Gracie volleyball is Monday and Wednesdays. I looked on the registration link and did not see any classes for December for Tuesdays or Thursdays.
Are there any classes available for those days in the evenings?

    Thanks

    • Hi AnneMarie!! How about Tuesday at 5:30? I have a Gentle class that meets every week through December 8. You could also try Karen Hill Miller’s Gentle class Tuesdays at 7pm. It’s the same price as mine and also lasts 75 minutes.
